On 17 April 2012, the Second Filistin Ashabab Multi-Media Exhibition titled "Sails for Freedom" was held at Kamal Naser Hall at BZU. The Exhibition was attended by the Minister of Culture, Siham Barghouti; BZU President, Dr. Khalil Hindi; Vice President for Community Outreach, Dr. Munir Qazzaz; Master Graphic Designer at “This Week in Palestine Magazine,” Tayseer Masriyeh; Director of BZU Museum, Inas Yassin; along with artists, students and other interested individuals.

This multimedia exhibition hosted 45 Palestinian writers, artists, photographers, and videographers from 1948 Palestine and the Diaspora, aiming to promote values of freedom and to open prospects for youth to freely express their ideas and concerns.

Barghouti commented that this exhibition contributes to supporting Palestinian youth’s creativity and incorporates art in the national cultural movement. She highlighted BZU’s role in supporting and embracing youth’s creative abilities.

Dr. Qazzaz noted that "The University has paid great attention to students’ artistic creations since its establishment, out of its belief in the role of the youth in effecting change and achieving freedom."

Masriyeh emphasized the importance of community outreach and support of youth. Yassin observed that the exhibition forms a special dimension for the BZU Museum, as the museum’s future activities will focus on presenting youth experiences and ideas in an artistic manner.

This exhibition continued through 26 April 2012 in Birzeit as its first station, and then will tour around other venues.
