Birzeit University has renewed the Abdel Salam Mohammad Abu Issa Scholarship in a signing ceremony with the late benefactor’s sons. The scholarship is offered to outstanding high school graduates based on financial need and academic merit.

Fifty scholarships will be awarded to needy students for one academic year. Eligible freshmen will have earned no less than 85% on their high school degree (Tawjihi or equivalent). This scholarship also targets students from 1948 territories.

“We are delighted to announce the renewal of this scholarship,” university president Abdel Latif Abu Hijleh said. “The Abdel Salam Mohammad Abu Issa Scholarship can be life-changing. It unlocks the door to educational opportunity to some of the brightest low-income students. The support provided by our donors allows us to offer increasing numbers of scholarships so that the brightest and best students can join us. We strive to develop the next generation of leaders,” he said.
