A delegation from the Al-Aqsa Association for Waqf and Heritage visited Birzeit University on April 1, 2015, and met with university president Khalil Hindi. The parties discussed how to encourage Palestinian citizens of Israel to study at Birzeit University, and ways to support them.

The guest delegation presented Birzeit University with a gift, a four-volume encyclopedia covering the impact of Islamic and Christian heritage on northern historic Palestine.

The president thanked the delegation for the precious gift, which will enrich the university library. He also emphasized the university’s interest in attracting students from historic Palestine, and wished further cooperation in the research field.

The delegation expressed its gratitude for the university’s efforts and openness and asserted that it would develop a plan for teaching young Palestinian citizens of Israel at Birzeit University.
