Birzeit University Graduates 11th Class of Osool "Assets/Arab Bank" Students

Birzeit University’s Faculty of Business and Economics and the Arab Bank celebrated on March 9, 2013 the graduation of the 11th class of students from the Osool "Assets/Arab Bank Program," which is tailored to train Palestinian university students.

Seeking to develop students’’ practical experience, 29 Business and Economics students participated in the training program and became acquainted with the bank’s work mechanism.

Training and employment unit officer at the faculty Shireen Basha welcomed the participants and Arab Bank representatives to the graduation ceremony. She emphasized the importance of the program in preparing university students before they enter the work force, as the program refines their skills and behavior and builds their capacity.

Faculty Dean Mohammed Nasr told attendees that he valued the continued cooperation between BZU and the Arab Bank, ongoing in the Arab Bank’s funding of the faculty’s open day on April 20, 2013. Nasr offered an overview of the faculty’s programs, which aim to bridge the gap between academic and practical life, as exemplified in the Cooperative Education and Executive Education programs.

While expressing his pleasure at being able to support Palestine’s educational sector, Arab Bank Manager of the Central District Loay Hawwash explained that, "The Osool program was implemented by Arab Bank trainers, who covered many theoretical and practical topics such as personal skills development, communication skills, presentation skills, creative thinking and others."

Arab Bank Director of Human Resources Salam Aqqad commended the faculty on its  outstanding students and said that the programs was launched in 2005, targeting several Palestinian universities, and has achieved remarkable success.
