Birzeit University, Netherlands Discuss Cooperation

Birzeit University president Abdel Latif Abu Hijleh, accompanied by Vice President for Academic Affairs Henry Giacaman and Institute of Environmental and Water Studies Director Maher Abu Madi,welcomed to campus the representative of the Netherlands in Ramallah, Peter Mollema, on February 22, 2016.

Abu Hijleh praised the strategic relationship between the university and the Dutch government, which was solidified through the development of the Institute of Environmental and Water Studies. “We are looking for means to cooperate in various ways, such as by exchanging students and faculty members between Birzeit University and Dutch universities,and cooperating in scholarship and research,” Abu Hijleh said.

Mollema statedthat The Netherlands seeks to strengthen its relationshipwith Palestinians, especially in academics and research.
