The Ibrahim Abu-Lughod Institute of International Studies at Birzeit University signed and agreement with al-Ram Municipality on November 17, 2014 that will promote the Palestine Digital Archive project being implemented by Birzeit University.

The agreement aims at full documentation of documents, photos, oral history, and social and cultural life in the town of al-Ram from Ottoman rule until today.

The Birzeit University Digital Archive Project was kicked off in 2011 by Ibrahim Abu-Lughod Institute of International Studies, in order to document the lives of Palestinians (individuals, families, and institutions) since the Ottoman era. The Palestine Digital Archive began as a research project supported by the Birzeit University Faculty of Graduate Studies in its first two years. The archive has obtained tens of thousands of documents available on the archive’s website, http://awraq.birzeit.edu.
