A delegation led by Birzeit University Vice President for Advancement Ghassan Khatib and dean of Student Affairs Mohammed Al-Ahmed visited the Tunisian Ambassador in Palestine Habib Ben Farah on March 18, 2015 to discuss ways to develop and strengthen cooperation.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Birzeit delegation welcomed the Tunisian ambassador, who has just occupied the new post in Palestine. Both sides emphasized the historical relations between the Palestinian and Tunisian peoples and the importance of strengthening academic cooperation between Birzeit University and Tunisian universities.

The parties discussed re-activating the agreement signed between Birzeit University and the University of Tunis El Manar, which stipulated cooperation in the field of scientific research, capacity building of graduates and researchers, as well as exchange of academic expertise.

Moreover, they discussed the hosting of a Tunisian cultural day in cooperation with the Tunisian Ministry of Culture to be organized at Birzeit University.
