“Failure is a key ingredient for success."

Concluding his lecture, Mr. Hakam Kanafani* asserted: “Failure is a key ingredient for success." The CEO of Turk Telekom Group spoke at BZU on “Success, Failure and More Success.”

The event was held as part of a lecture series at the University entitled: "Leadership for Success," sponsored by the Palestine Telecommunications Company. This lecture series aims to host corporate leaders and professionals, and invites them to share their experiences and successes as well as discuss their rationales, tactics and views.

In his welcome address, BZU President, Dr. Khalil Hindi, told the students crowded in Kamal Nasir Hall: "You are here to listen to one of the brightest young Palestinians and learn about ways to achieve success.”

Kanafani addressed the challenges and obstacles facing success, giving examples of successful figures who succeeded when others expected them to fail. He argued that "The enormous change brought by the communication technology revolution has affected the social environment, where new cultures and patterns of consumption will emerge.”

Kanafani warned students: “In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear.  Failure is not the end of the world, but rather a set of experiences preceding success, and life is full of pitfalls, from which you ascend the ladder of success."

Dr. Hindi added that this lecture is part of a series that will be conducted by BZU over the coming years, highlighting Palestinians’ achievements in various fields.
