PADUCO Assembles to Enhance Collaboration on Water Issues
Birzeit University's Institute of Environmental and Water Studies refined mechanisms to develop the strategy of the second phase of the Palestinian-Dutch Academic Cooperation Program on Water (PADUCO) during their workshop on May 26, 2016.
The workshop was attended by representatives from university partners: Alquds University, Al-Najah National University, Palestine Polytechnique University, Palestine Technical University-Kadoorie, and Birzeit University. In addition to representatives from the Palestinian Water Authority, Ministry of Agriculture, and The Environment Quality Authority.
The workshop discussed prospects to strengthen educational and research collaboration between Palestinian universities and their peers in Netherland, aiming to contribute to solving major issues that face the Palestinian water sector.
The National Coordinator of PADUCO, Maher Abu- Madi stressed on the importance of developing a strategic road map to enhance the work of PADUCO through engaging governmental entities, the private sector and civil society.
The workshop was facilitated by Dutch specialist Yatsi Hun who is sharing his experience and knowledge to support the collaboration between the partners.
